We woke to sad news: Karl Lagerfeld – Chanel’s Creative Director since 1983, Fendi’s since 1965, the leader of his own eponymous line and language – sadly called this Tuesday his last.
Lagerfeld told W Magazine in 1978:
“When I was four, I asked my mother for a valet for my birthday. I wanted my clothes prepared so I could wear anything I wanted at any time of the day. I was a clothes freak.”
In tribute to what VOGUE Paris calls “the longest fashion journey”, here’s a (smaller) edit of the the Lagerfeld moments we uncovered in the early hours this morning. And yes, his cat Choupette cameos too.
