The Basket Bags We’re Buying This Summer

Audrey Hepburn and Jane Birkin, they were onto something. Baskets are the bag of choice, off duty or on. At our recent swim show, we saw all shapes and sizes go down the runway and we want them all.

Once upon a time strictly a beach or a market affair, or a souvenir from a tropical destination, now raffia, straw or anything with a weave are our not-so-new hold-alls of choice. Whether you go for the teeny tiny option or the carry-all favoured by the Mums among us, you’re on a good thing. To carry as little – or as much – as you like.  They’re the all-natural storage solution, perfect for beach or bar or anywhere in-between. Handy for the former – the sand sifts straight out. Birkin toted hers around Paris, Cannes and London and we’re taking our through this summer and beyond.

Talk about a basket case.
