Men's Nike Free Run - New Zealand
Nike Free running shoes allow your feet to move the way they want, while delivering the cushioning they need for a more natural run.
After learning that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university’s golf course, Nike’s most innovative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt similar to bare feet. The team spent eight years studying the biomechanics of runner’s feet in motion using pressure-measuring insoles and high-speed cameras, with the result being a flexible running shoe designed for natural movement. Putting less shoe between your foot and the ground, your feet are able to move the way they were meant to. Your toes will flex and grip, setting off a natural chain that exercised muscles normally neglected in traditional footwear. Exercising these muscles may add millimetres to a leap, or trim milliseconds off race time while strengthening key stabiliser muscles that help to prevent injury.
With a numbering system that indicates the cushioning of the shoe, Free 3.0 is the least cushioned, and closest to barefoot running, while Free 5.0 the most cushioned. Newer styles feature hexagonal grooves hot-knife cut into the outsole, creating six different flex points that allow your foot to move more naturally than ever.
Merging the natural, healthy motion of a bare foot with the protection of traditional footwear, Nike Free running shoes are set to become a workout essential. Choose from bright colours, classic hues, lace-up and slip-on designs to find the perfect pair.
